OVERVIEW

Panchan Pathri is a stunning, lush meadow in the Dano Kandi Marg area of Kulgam district, South Kashmir, offering excellent opportunities for snow trekking, skiing, and hiking. Located 28 kilometers from Kulgam, its name means "five valleys," reflecting its historical guardians. Surrounded by towering alpine trees and a flowing stream, it serves as a picturesque picnic spot and is increasingly popular for skiing, rivaling Gulmarg. With an altitude of 2,423 meters, Panchan Pathri is also a base for adventurous hikers heading into the Pir Panchal forests. Currently accessible via a semi-motorable route, improvements are underway to enhance access, making it ideal for family outings, school trips, and camping.

By Air

The nearest airport is Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport in Srinagar, approximately 70 kilometers away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Kulgam.

By Road

Kulgam is well-connected by road. If you're traveling from Srinagar, you can take a bus or hire a taxi. Once in Kulgam, you need to head towards D K Marg, and from there, follow the route to Panchanpathri, which is about 26 kilometers from Kulgam town.

Local Transport

Once you reach D K Marg, you may need to use local taxis or trek the semi-motorable route to reach Panchanpathri.
