There is no significant historical event directly associated with Daksum like in places such as Pahalgam or Achabal, which are tied to Mughal history. However, Daksum has traditionally been an important pastoral and trading route due to its location on the way to Sinthan Top. The area has been used by shepherds and nomads for grazing livestock for centuries, and the lush meadows of Daksum have been a key part of the region's rural economy. That said, its position on the Srinagar-Kishtwar Road has made it a strategic route for local trade and travel between Kashmir and Jammu. It's also becoming more prominent for tourists as part of the trail to Sinthan Top.
